Historical walking tour from statue to statue
Enjoy a walking tour through Vaasa's history with stories behind the statues, old architecture, parks and esplanades.
Starting point: Finland's Liberty Statue in the market square.

Edvin's path
Along the fitness-path in Asevelikylä a lot of Outsider-art can to be seen. The path is named after Vaasa-born artist Edvin Hevonkoski.
Tours on Wednesdays in July and August from 1 pm to 2:30 pm.

Barracks walking tour
The Vaasa barracks area is one of the best-preserved 19th-century wooden barracks areas in Finland. On this guided tour, you get to know St. Nicholas Church and the barracks area.

Raippaluoto history tour
On the walking tour you will hear about heroic pilots, periods of oppression, smugglers, Russian military expeditions, jaegers, interesting villagers, and of course about land raising and much more.

Does Strömsö really exist?
Strömsö is real! Come and see an old villa full of history, serving as TV studio for the lifestyle program Strömsö and a paradise for idea generators and DIY enthusiasts. The tour takes us indoors and around the garden.

Join our guide on a walk through the municipal center of Korsholm. We leave from Elly Sigfrid's square and walk through new Smedsby.

Famous people and buildings of Vaasa
Vaasa's current city plan and many of the buildings were designed by architect Carl Axel Setterberg in the 19th century.

Evening Walk in Old Vaasa
King Charles IX established Vaasa in 1606 in the oldest harbour and merchant site of Ostrobothnia. King Charles III established Finland's second Court of Appeal in Vaasa.

Promenade in the Alkula Garden
At Alkula farm, next to old tobacco fields, August Alexander Levón founded the first steam mill in Finland in 1849. His enthusiastic interest in gardening has also left its marks in the nature of Alkula.

Kappelinmäki graveyard
Kappelinmäki graveyard dates back to 1782. It is one of Finland´s oldest graveyards still in active use. Much of Vaasa´s ancient history lies buried in its soil.

Evening walk in Präntöö better known as Palosaari
Vaasa's first suburban district has a special place in the city`s history. The history begins in the 1780s when the port was moved here from Old Vaasa. Authors, shipbuilders, artists and factory workers have shaped the history of the island.
