Palosaari is a diverse and multifaceted district. Its early development dates to the 1780s, when the port was moved there from Old Vaasa. After the great fire of Vaasa in 1852, several industries were established in the area, including the Vaasa Cotton Factory, making Palosaari a center for port and industrial activity.

Today, Palosaari is known for its strong local identity and sense of community. The area is home to several educational institutions, including the University of Vaasa, Novia University of Applied Sciences, and Vaasa University of Applied Sciences, which give the district a youthful and vibrant atmosphere.

Tickets: 10 €/person, free of charge for children under 12 years.
Tickets shall be bought online at least 12 h in advance. And the booking confirmation serves as ticket.
